  • Our dance style is On-1 (LA style) with the exception of Rueda/Casino. We allocate two instructors per class - male and female - so that you get to hear both sides of the story. After all, that's what dancing is - telling your story on the dance floor.

Most of our instructors have been with us for years and have learnt under fearless leader Tamer Ozer's watchful guidance. But whether they have been with us for 2 months or 10 years, all of them are expert dancers and true salseros who love the art, love the students and have a genuine interest in seeing people become better dancers.

  • Our Casino class has been running hot this year, challenging all we know about linear salsa.

Be sure to check out our Facebook page for regular video updates to refresh your memory or show you what you missed if you weren't able to join us.

Those of you who have been coming week after week, we hope you agree the progress has been rewarding. Keep it up!

  • Thanks for those who have signed up! While we find the last few we need to make up the numbers, have a go at Casino which is essentially Rueda moves without the circle. Mastering these moves will help with Rueda immensely, and we'll be ready to go once we have the right numbers for Rueda. Let's rock the rueda this year!

  • So you can dance... but can you dance well? These are some good tips to master early on. Experience tells us that bad habits can linger around. Do it right, and do it right now!

  • No bouncing - keep it smooth.

    · The faster the music, the smaller the steps.

  • Make sure you have good upright posture (bad posture throws you off-balance... and just doesn't look great).

  • Bend your knees to control your spins.

    · Spot! Do not look up, down or around the room whilst turning. Look only at your partner

  • Keep elbows tucked in at all times (no chicken wings or T Rex arms).

    · Unused arms must not be flung around… use them for balance or styling.

    · Don't be too shy to style. Remember, salsa is sexy!

  • It’s not how many moves you can do… it’s how well you can do them.

    · Timing is everything… listen to the rhythm (especially men).

    · It's okay to be naughty but not creepy!

    · Practice, practice and practice.

    · And... Smile!!! Positive energy = a better experience for everyone!

  • Make eye contact with your partner.

    · Men, make your partner look good… in turn, you'll look good too.

    · Ladies, learn to become great followers even if the lead is misleading.

    · Never argue about who is right.

    · A connection between dancers is a must - enjoy your moment!

  • There are four levels of classes so whether you’re a complete beginner or you’ve been dancing for years, there's something for you to learn. If you're not sure where you fit in, drop us a line or simply drop by and one of our friendly instructors will help you find the class that's right for you.

ILatinDance is a professional dance studio located in Parramatta CBD, right on the heart of Sydney, featuring the best of both latin and modern dancing. Dance is our passion, and we focus on learning to dance all styles from Cuban to Casino to Bachata as well as all styles our professional teachers excel at to make learning serious as much as fun in an intimate setting.
  • After the two hours of class each Monday night, we have a group shines session where everyone dances in step together no matter what level you're at. Shines doesn't discriminate!

Then we have one hour of social dancing to non-stop salsa tunes with some bachata thrown in for good measure. This is where you get to practise what you've learmt and show off your dance moves. Our social atmosphere and friendly crowd is what we are known for, so even if you don't do a class, drop by for the social!
